Matt 28:18-20
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Encourage & Provide
One of our greatest hopes for this discipleship path is to encourage and provide support for every individual at Christ Covenant Chapel (C.C.C.) to establish and maintain a deep connection with Jesus and equip them to invite others to do the same. The Pathway of Discipleship is not a map to an ending or finish line, but the pathway for a life-long journey of making disciples and being transformed into a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
COL 2:6-7 (2 Tim. 2:2).
” What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Tim. 2:2)."
This verse includes four generations of disciples:
- Generation 1: Paul
- Generation 2: Timothy
- Generation 3: Faithful men
- Generation 4: Others
With our mission and vision as a guide, we’ve determined that connection is essential to inviting people to Christ. We have developed a discipleship pathway that we hope will help to accomplish three important goals:
- Connection: Building relationships with people outside of the faith, outside of C.C.C., and within the church PROV 18:24
- Growth: Disciples should develop their personal spiritual walk in line with C.C.C.’s mission, vision, and values2 PET 3:18, HEB 6:1; LUKE 2:52
- Deployment: Disciples can duplicate themselves and impact the world. 2 TIM 2:2
